What early readers say

The books I’ve received have been thoughtful, well argued, and genuinely worth reading. Each one feels carefully chosen and presented with real care.

Daniel Carter, nonfiction reader and reviewer

I love opening an email and finding a new book waiting for me. The summary and visual overview help me choose what to read, while the changing subjects often lead me somewhere unexpected.

Answers to common questions about advance copies, reader materials and reviews.

When a selected Enlighten book is ready, you’ll receive a free, high-quality digital edition, along with a concise summary and a one-page visual overview. The ebook is provided as a clean reading copy, without review-copy watermarks.

We aim to send around two selected books each month, although there is no fixed release date. You will receive at least one book in most months, and occasionally up to three when several titles are ready close together.

Enlighten publishes serious nonfiction for thoughtful general readers. Our books are clear, accessible, and carefully argued, with a focus on ideas that help readers understand modern life, work, culture, behaviour, and society.

No. You do not have to review every book you receive. Reviews are always your choice, but they are greatly appreciated. Even a short, honest review can help new books find an audience and allow us to keep offering free early copies.

Your email will only be used to send advance reading copies, supporting reader material, and occasional review reminders. You can unsubscribe at any time.
